IR Remote Control

Hi,

Is it only possible to set up Infra-red control if I am using a WinTV-PVR capture card?
My understanding is that the card itself has to have a usb input? Not sure why I can't use it with a different capture card and usb port.

I am trying to set up so I can change channels on my starhub box through a usb IR (USBUIR20056) using my sage remote control.

Any help much appreciated.

not sure what a starhub is, but a USB-UIRT device is often used to issue IR commands such as channel-changes from Sage to a device that can use IR remotes.

I should have been more clear. Starhub is a cable TV provider in Singapore. I meant to change my Starhub cable box channels using the USB-UIRT.

It seems Sage only allows IR config if you install the additional PVR drivers at the beginning or am I missing something?
