API funciton for recording status

I'm writing a utility app (not a Sage plugin). From within it, I'd like to poll SageTV and find out 1) if SageTV is currently recording, 2) if so, what show, 3) when will the recording end. Can any of the Sage API libraries (or maybe SageTV itself) provide my app with this info? Win7 x64, SageTV 7.1.5 Media Center (I don't run the Sage service).

Without running the sagetv service it will be hard. Why don't you run the service no reason not to? With the server I would look at sagex remote api and functions.

As Plucky said, sagex-api's can probably do what you need.
