Audio screech / buzz / beep on channel change
Have an HDPVR setup over component (video) and optical (sound) feed into a Sage server and connected to an HD300 extender. TV is connected to the extender over HDMI and audio on the HD300 is set to PCM. I get a loud screech / buzz / beep sometimes when I change channels. It lasts about 10 seconds and then stops. Is the TV getting the wrong audio format and if so, how do you stop it?

Additional side note that I noticed last night. When it occurs it the volume setting on the extender does not seem to affect the screech level but I haven't tried mute yet. Only the TV volume level seems to affect the sound.

It's like the sound is being passed as AC3 or something that the TV doesn't understand and until it adjusts I get the screech.

Update. Its something with the hd300 unit. Put my hd200 in and no issue. Also noticed playback studder which was also gone. Theory at this time is the hd300 supports gigbit network and my cable can't handle it. Going to step my switch down to 100 and see if it fixes the issue.

I get exactly the same problem, except only after playing back recorded TV and not imported video files. Will send a note to sage to see what they may say. I didn't have this problem with the HD200 either.

Just installed the beta firmware (hit 2382 on the firmware update screen). This did the trick for me. Thanks to Sage support!
