Error playing Ripped DVD on Remote Client
I've used DVDFab to copy a few DVD's to my sage machine and they show up and play fine from the server. When I try to play them from my other computer I get an error saying:

Make sure you have a decoder that can play DVDs installed on that PC and chosen in Sage. Also make sure the user on that PC has permissions to access files on the other system.

The machines definitely setup for playing DVD's, and the folder is shared with read/write permissions.
In Sage I have the folder setup as G:\SageMedia, should I be mapping it differently? Like \\ogcan-pvr\SageMedia perhaps? |

If you're using the SageTV service you need to use UNC paths like \\ogcan-pvr\SageMedia.
That's explained in the manual. ![]() Gerry

ok, changed to the UNC path and that works from the remote machine but no audio. From the local machine (which won't matter when I get the HD300) it is extremely slow for both audio and video... like 5fps with synced audio.
I saw the part in the manual that said you would need to use UNC if running as a service and accessing a network drive, but since the drive is local to the server I assumed it would proxy the data instead of using a share. Last edited by zanthor; 03-06-2011 at 11:48 AM. |
