SageTV 7 + ExeTunerPlugin, not working unless using the Local System account

Hi,

Dilemma ... I have changed the identity of the SageTV service so it now runs under a custom user account I created instead of the Local System Account.

Why did I do this? To be able to access media on UNC paths via SageTV. (I have multiple clients, a HD300 and a placeshifter). At the time, I was told that the only way to access content on network drives was to have the SageTV service run under a custom user account with the appropriate priviliges.

Ok, this works fine.

But now I'm trying to get the ExeTunerPlugin to work. I've selected it as the channel changing device for my source, and the command registry entry points to notepad. If I change the SageTV service identity back to the Local System Account and allow it to interact with the desktop, this works perfectly.

If I change it back to use the custom user account I created, then the ExeTunerPlugin does not do anything (No notepad windows get launced.)

Any ideas? Do I need to configure the custom user I created in some way?

BTW, I did run ProcessExplorer and I saw that SageTVService was successfully query-ing and reading from the command registry key, but for some reason notepad.exe would not run.

How do I get the ExeTunerPlugin to work without using the Local System Account for the SageTV service?

Uhhh OK. Now I feel like an idiot. I just launched the task manager on the machine and I can see that there are tons of notepad.exe processes under the mediabrowser user so I guess that notepad IS being executed correctly. It's just not being shown on the desktop.

So I guess this just works then :-)

Notepad %CHANNEL% is just not a good test case when running under a custom user account.
