SageTV v7, win7, girder, and usb-uirt
Since upgrading to Win7 x64 and SageTV v7, I've had problems trying to get the SageTV service to use the USB-UIRT for both receiving navigation commands like scrolling around the menu and sending (blasting) channel changes. I have read in several posts that this has to do with security issues in Win7. It seems that applications in two different security contexts (sageTV service and sageTV client) cannot both use the USB-UIRT, win7 just doesn't allow it (this wasn't the case on XP so things worked there). One post suggested using a third party app like girder to control the USB-UIRT and offer its services to sageTV. I now have girder controlling sageTV service, but I cannot figure out how to get channel change requests from sageTV to girder. This would be needed when the service wakes the HTPC to record a show and asks for a channel change. I've seen some external tuner plugins like EXEtunerplugin and multitunerplugin, but I can't seem to find them for SageTV 7. So, how are people using SageTV as a service in Win7 with a USB-UIRT? And just in case, my remote is a Harmony 880. Thanks much.

I believe there's a thread around here somewhere with a beta version of the USB-UIRT software that gets around this win7 limitation, allowing both the UI and service to access the USB-UIRT natively. lemme search for it.

I've been running that driver ever since I got it from Jon and haven't had any problems with it. Should get you up and running in no time.
