HD300 strange issue

The hd300 will turn itself off randomly when watching tv. The hd300 also when you use the power button on the remote to turn it off and then turn it back on and play a video the video counter goes but no sound or video. The only way to get it working again is to unplug the unit. I have to unplug the unit every time i turn it back on now or no video or sound will show. I can see the interface and navigate but the video or audio is not there even when the counter is advancing.

Had the exact same issue today. Took a couple of hours to figure it out. Only affected the HD300, from a pc client worked perfectly.

it appears to be the hd300 did you just unplug it and when you plugged it back in it worked?

I'm having the same issue while playing music. It's happened after about 2 hours of play with the latest beta and after more than 6 hours on the previous beta release. I screwed up and didn't pull the logs before I pulled the plug. I'm not sure whether its hardware or firmware related.

I have 2 HD300's and the other one hasn't done it yet. It gets used a little more than 2 hours each evening.

I don't have to pull the plug each time I want to use it like ripplingj. Just after it has shut down on its own.

I just upgraded to a new firmware that was release. I have one in a remote location that plays for 6 min then turns off. The one in the local lan randomly shuts off now. I have turned off the sleep mode on the nic cards and i have replaced my router to asus rt-n16 with ddwrt and replaced my cable modem and added a teaming nic card to the computer that is the dedicated server and upgraded my switched to 10/100/1000 and i still get a random problem (with all these upgrades the interface works fast and is very responsive in the local lan)

The placeshifter playing on a computer connected over the wan works and does not turn off. this is a dsl connection.

The placeshifter playing on a cell phone tether connection works and does not shut off. this is aprox 1.36 down and 1.36 up cell phone connection and works fine with no stuttering or problems at all.

the hd300 connected on the dsl connection turns off ans stutters even with the newest firmware over the wan in a remote location.

unfortunately i cannot test the cellphone with the hd300 as i cannot tether to the hd300.

Send us logs if you have issues like that using the 20110124-2 beta firmware.
