Strange TV Issue

So I picked up an older (1997) 32" Sony Trinitron TV at Goodwill last week for $20. It had a bad power supply, which I have since fixed. I hooked up my HTPC to it last night to check it out, and the image from my compter was seriously messed up. The picture and colors were strobing, and there were all kinds of bars and lines going across the screen. At first I figured it was the TV, but then comes the strange part...

When viewing the signal from my computer on the picture in picture, it looked perfect. So I switched sources and plugged in my DVD player, and that looked fine too, not just in PIP, but on the main screen. I then tried the TV out from my other computer, and that looked OK as well.

The thing that I have started thinking, and am going to try right when I get home is this: During the process, I never rebooted the computer. I switched it from my current tv to the new tv, and that's it. When I get home I will try connecting them and then rebooting, and hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise, I'll buy a new video card. Has any one else seen anything like this in their experiences?

FTR, I have an asus radeon 7000, connecting through composite now. Problems were seen through both composite and svideo when hooking up to the Sony.
