No audio for M4Vs with AAC
I'm having issues playing M4V files with AAC through SagePlayer. MPEG2 files w/ 2 channel or AC3 both work. AVIs with MP3 or AC3 all play audio fine as well. Same M4Vs seem to work w/ Windows Media Player which finds an AAC (non-default audio codec in the M4Vs). WMP does bring up FFDShow audio decoder icon in system tray, which SagePlayer does not.
Any suggestions for what configuration needs to changed? Thanks in advance !! Nate. |

Make sure the following is set to directshow
Setup->Detailed Settings->Video/Audio->Media Player for Non-MPEG files |

that's odd - If I use those settings, I LOSE audio for m4v files

And that's probably because you haven't installed a DirectShow decoder that would handle that.

do you have any suggestions? I have installed the Realtek drivers for my motherboard, but other than that, it's a vanilla Windows 7 install

Those are drivers, not decoders. Decoders like Quicktime, CoreAVC, probably TMT and PowerDVD.

If WMP can build the graph and sage is set to use directshow but can't build the graph something funky is going on. There may be a problem with the Sage splitter not exposing the audio correctly assuming you have ffdshow installed and configured correctly. Are these files you encoded yourself or something aquired externally? Can you remux them into another container for testing? You might want to try building a graph in graph studio to see what's going on...

Yes, I realize they are drivers, not decoders. I was just pointing out ALL I had done to my system regarding changes from vanilla W7

tvmaster2 I didn't realize you weren't the OP when I posted before. Install ffdshow or a codec that can handle whatever audio codec was used is in your m4v's and you should be all set.

I usually install the Shark codec pack on my machines, but resisted on this one until I was sure that everything was working in a minimal state. |
