How do I make v7 see ISOs?
I had read on a thread the v7 can automount ISOs (mine are just DVDs not BDs) but I cannot find out how. The do not show up in DVD/BD nor Videos. Sage does see them when browsing my folders directly but cannot play them.

Supported
For me, I just made a folder and put the ISO in it and as long as that folder is one of your Sage Imports directories it should just see it. I have a few along side my ripped DVDs.
Is that not working for you? Also try to do a rescan of your media so Sage looks for anything new in your import directories. AWS

Have you installed Virtual Clone Drive from Slysoft?
Probably want at least 1 virtual dvd drive for each extender. Not sure if sage uses one or not when it's doing an import. Something on my WHS was loading the isos while scanning. All I can think is it was Sage or MyMovies. One thing I've that appears to happen is unless there is a user logged in the on the WHS the ISO won't load. Haven't had chance to get to the bottom of that one yet, as the power has been on and off all day and now Sage is recording. Might be as simple as letting the SageTVService interact with the desktop. |

Yup for V7 you have to have VCD installed to handle ISO's. Also make sure you install VCD as the user that Sage runs under or it may not work correctly.

That's probably the cause of my problem. The WHS version of sage installs a service which runs under the Local System service account, but obviously VCD installs under a user account.

I'm not familiar with WHS, but you should be able to change the user context that the service runs under. Sage has a utility to do it on the regular Windows version, I would assume it runs on WHS as well since WHS is basically server 2003 with features removed. If not you should be able to open services.msc and change it in there directly. There are quite a few WHS users around and I'm sure someone that has seen the setup can direct you better if you can't poke around and find it

No worries, got to the root cause. The VCD install doesn't created a full set of registry keys in the default user registry tree.
The LocalSystem service (SageTV Servie Account) uses registry settings from the .DEFAULT user. I just exported the reg settings from a logged in user, modified the reg file and merged it into the .DEFAULT tree. One reboot later and DVD Iso mounting just works on the HD300 without needing to login to the server. The Sage manual really needs more about iso playback than a single line in the v7 release notes. Even their format support on the HD300 page says .iso but doesn't make any mention of needing VCD when in extender mode. |

Could you break this down and tell me which reg keys need to be copied and added I beleive i am having the same issue. Worked fine on my previous install. But I did a fulll wipe on the computer and I think I installed Sage TV before Virtual clone drive and now its not working. I would have to look more in depth to make sure that was the issue, For now My PC and my HD300 in extender mode don't like .ISO files - and from what I can tell Sage is not trying to mount them in the Virtual clone drive. |

The Error I Receive is
There was a Playback Error in playback. Details: sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x80004005): there was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback. Also I look at the Virtual CloneDrive and the .ISO does not get mounted. I enabled logging - now if i could just find the log file |

Ok After messing with it a bit -- and reading the forums. I noticed the the iso I was trying to play had a space in the folder name and the ISO.
For example \\computername\driveletter\BOLT (2008)\BOLT (2008).iso - not working I changed it to \\computername\driveletter\BOLT(2008)\BOLT(2008).iso -working also tested \\Computername\driveletter\BOLT (2008)\BOLT(2008).iso - working --BAM-- It works now. hope this helps some peeps out there.
