Seriously? I cant play DVD isos?
From what I understand SageTV doesnt support dvd iso natively, and the only plugin that does this is obsolete because it doesnt work with v6
Am I understanding this right? |

If you mean physically reading an .iso image, you are correct.
If you extract the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive however, it will read/play it like an actual DVD. |

Actually, it looks like there is some support for this in the HD Extender. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...d+extender+iso

If you like, there are a number of virtual optical drive programs that will let you mount that .ISO into a virtual DVD drive. You can then perhaps use the external programs plugin to run the commands to insert the .ISO into the virtual drive, and then play it back via Sage's normal DVD playback method...
Or, just extract the ISO's to folders. The space required is the basically the same, as .ISO's aren't compressed, and sometimes actually take up more space than the individual files, because the ISO keeps a lot of filesystem information in the file as well.

Possible Using the External Apps STVi
This has been my issue. I used the External Apps STVi (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=189) to launch VLC to view iso files, and it works pretty well. No need to mound/unmount iso images. Just modify the property file to recognize iso files.
If this sounds good to you, you might want to change few things in the VLC preference to make it to your likings (i.e. full screen, one instance only, etc.) |
