Getting static on my new HD300

I just received my new HD300. when playing a recorded video, Bluray..anything, I get some static over the audio. No I'm only using my analog ports on my TV, no receiver. When I choose analog int eh hd300 setup, I get nothing. If I choose PCM I get sound but static. Same with the other 2 choices, but they sound worse. I have also updated to the latest beta firmware.

any thoughts?

I had a similar issue. Found that if I wiggled the cable, the static would get worse or go away. Luckily I had ordered 2 HD300's. So I swapped in a new cable and that fixed it. Sage is replacing the cable for me. Don't know if that helps.

Ok ,I just did some more checking here. No the video cable I'm using is a DVI to HDMI. I have a HDMI adapter on the Hd300 end. I'll be replacing this cable with a hdmi to hdmi soon.

So I noticed the static audio I get is coming over HDMI cable. But I want to use the breakout cable. So I have the break out cable hooked up and I chose analog in the hd300 setup but I get nothing for audio.

what am I missing?

Ok again. I just moved the hd300 close to the tv and used 2 other hdmi cables I have and I get static on everything. I connected my hd200 back up and no static. Seems like a bad hd300. I sent an email to support.

Bummer!

HDMI is digital audio. If you want sound over your HDMI set the extender to digital.

Sorry-misread your post on the breakout cable. Does sound like an issue you need to RMA the hd300.
