all static and no sound...

Hello.
This is my first attempt at using a TV Tuner. I recently got one and have just got around to trying it out. It is a "Super Digital Video Dazzle Series USB 2.0 TV Box". So I hooked it up and set it up with XP and what not. Installed the software that comes with it. I get the channels playing fine. However, the software is shitty.

After some searching I discovered SageTV. It looks amazing...

So I have gone through all of the setup for SageTV Media Center 4. It recognizes the TV Tuner as USB 2801 Video TV Tuner, the same name that XP recognizes it as. My cable provider is Rogers - and I have digital cable in Toronto, Canada. My input type is TV Tuner. I select my audio as USB EMP Audio Device.

I get static when I am choosing my sources for video and audio. Also, when I get back to Source Details "being used for live tv" is set to false. I don't seem to be able to change it. Then when I get to the configure video playback feature none of the settings: basic, standard, etc. work for me. Just static. If i choose one and go to watch TV all I have is static, however the program guide (displaying what shows at what time, not sure of the real name for it) is working...

Any h elp is appreciated. Shoudl the software work with all cards.

PS - i am using the trial.

Thank you!

Since it is NOT listed as a supported TV tuner for Sage I would say that is your main issue. Even though Sage may see the tuner it DOES NOT mean it is going to work with it. Stick to the approved and known working tuners and you will be fine.
