HD200: Blank Screen Post-Software-Update?

Just started testing with the production release of v7.

The HD200 popped a dialog that said it's firmware was not up-to-date for the current version of SageTV.

So I re-booted the HD200, cancelled AutoConnect, went into Setup, initiated the software update, and went to lunch.

Watched some of the downloading/deleting processes before I went.

Over an hour later I came back, noted the HD200's red lite was on, but that the TV screen was blank. The HD200 was never powered off, and there were no power interruptions during that period.

Unplugged the HD200's power, plugged it back in, and waited.

I saw this screen: http://tinyurl.com/22pb2dm about five seconds after applying power.

That screen persisted for about thirty seconds, then the screen went blank and stayed that way.

Once the screen goes blank, the HD200 no longer responds to the remote's On/Off button.

I'm on my fifth iteration of that process, and its the same thing - except one time after the screen went blank there was a very brief (probably less than a second) blue "SageTV is starting up".

Seems like an hour shb more than enough for the updates to finish.

Have I managed to brick my HD200?

Tap the video out button on the remote until you get an image. The firmware update probably triggered the HD200 to try to output a resolution your tv can't handle. After each press of the video out, wait a few seconds and then try it again.

Tried it six times with a ten-count between, no luck.

But I suspect that the device is not responsive to the remote bco what I said before about the On/Off button not working.

Doing it again, I started pressing Video from the beginning - over-and-over.

About 10 seconds into the boot, the red light started responding to the button presses.

Kept pressing and pressing and finally, close to a minute into the boot, the box just turned itself off - On/Off would not turn it back on. Pressing "Home" instead of "Video" seems to have the same effect.

Repeating that procedure, if I press "Off" while I'm getting responses to the Video button, I can turn the device off and it can then be turned back on via the "On/Off" button. Also got another flash of a later startup screen during that process..... so the thing about Video rings true.

I'm feeding RGB to the TV. Maybe there's some wiggle room there...

Tried switching over to the Red/White/Yellow cables and no luck either. Looks like the device puts out whatever it's putting out to both outputs.

On one iteration, however, I got a new screen - albiet very briefly. Something like "HD Media Player" in smaller type in the upper portion of a blue screen.
