Blank Screen after Windows Screen Saver
Hello All,
SageTV (4.1) is working pretty good for me right now, but I have one problem I thought I might be able to solict a little help with. When my Windows ScreenSaver kicks in I can never get SageTV to "come back", then screen is black and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del and then close the app and open it back up. The application appears to be working as far as recording and such goes as when I load SageTV up again it has recorded shows and everything, but it seems to have messed up the GUI. I am sure it has something to do with the Accelerated graphics as the screen saver I use is the Aquarium with "real" looking fish and it utilizes direct3D. I also experience the GUI going black when I play a game that utilized accelerated graphics. Is there some setting or such that tells Sage to re-intialize the graphics on a window focus or something that I can set? Any help is much appreciated! |

I am at work right now so I can't check whether it is VMR9 or Overlay, but I haven't changed it from default. If it isn't in Overlay I will try that tonight. What am I giving up if I have to go to Overlay? I like all the "special effects" like fading and the like and would be disappointed to have to "downgrade" since I am running a pretty good system (AMD dual core 4200+, GEForce 7800GT, and the like)
I'm sorry I don't know what FSE is? I will search on that term to learn more, but I am currently not aware of it so it is probably default (if it can be). thanks for the help. |

Did you get this issue resolved?
I have a similar issue I thought had gone away, but it's just happened again. I'm only using a Win2K default screen saver. I had changed my Sage ScreenSaver to 8 hours (even though it's "disabled") and thought that took care of it. I'll try changing to 48 hours and see if it happens again. |
