Design the next SMM View!!! Show me what you want.

Okay another post inspired me so here it is show me a view mockup you want to see in SMM. Can be a custom designed by you or one from another media front end you would like to see. Here is your chance to make SMM look like you want it too. Thought this would be fun and a good way to get the users feedback involved that can't code but have always wanted to design a look/feel in the UI.

If you want different images and want to provide them I am open for that too. Use this thread to submit your ideas/images/mockups and then we will put the suggestions up for vote in a poll. Top one or 2 designs will get added into SMM.

We will count this post as suggestion/idea number since it inspired this idea.#1 and I will try and keep a updated list on this first post.

List/Poster Combined View Idea

Look foward to the ideas

cheers

I'd like to see a combination Poster and Wall view like this. You can never really see the background graphics in wall view plus I like having the movie description. Best of all worlds

EDIT: Then, since I'm sure you'd keep the ability to change sizes and spacing, etc., you might want "something" in the background so for this I'd suggest the Genre background behind the DVD covers. That's be slick

Here's a version of an XBMC Transparency theme also similar to an old SMW screen.

This one's a bit of a mixup, I have no idea if it will work or not but think of two lists converging on the bottom left corner moving towards or away depending on how it would be scrolled (left/right or up/down)... anyways just another idea, may not be workable in studio or even make sense

I'd vote for something like this.......not my design but an XBMC one.

Cheers

Ben

EDIT

Actually that would probably work quite well with Jeremy's Diamond theme......just a thought

This is one I've always wanted in SageTV. Not sure if the perspective is possible for the cover art in SageTV's animation system though.

If it's not possible, then one like this would be amazing:

That is 100% possible although extenders can't do it so I stay away from it. That view is pretty much ploxee as well though

I absolutely love this one. Seems so efficient in the use of screen space. It would be perfect for simple coverflow and genre views.

Can an extender take a pre-rendered (perspective) image, and display it properly? I assume it can, just not on the fly, correct?

OK here's some I just finished:

1. List scroll on the left, Large cover and info display

2. Has a horizontal scroll but uses a large offset cover which allows room for information. Notice the quick jump A-Z pop up (thanks SageMC)

3. Another horizontal scroll but displays a larger cover + Info + fan art

I like the addition of the quick jump A-Z. Very nice overall. I would use it!

Added a few things people regularly request to previous image. Alpha locator at bottom would slide up and then down once selected or similar.

Thats looking really nice.......couple of suggestions, make the main black panel behind the description darker and use caps for the jump to menus.

Cheers

Here's another one, darker panels and Caps on the jump menu with various other alignments tweaks and a couple more simulated media logos.

That's what I expected... at that point, why bother with the background artwork? If someone doesn't want to see it through the description pane, they should turn it off completely, since the little outline at the bottom is pretty much useless.

Otherwise, I love the view... along with several others which have been posted.
