Interest in SMM iphone/ipad app?

Gauging interest in a iphone/ipad app for the SMM addin. It would allow a list type and wall type type (ipad)_ and coverflow type view of all your movies from mymovies collection manager with filters genres etc.

It would originally not allow full control of your sagetv clients/extenders but would allow selecting a movie and what client/extender you wanted to to play the movie on as well as a cool way to browse for a movie or start a movie in a kids room.

Keep in mind this would work for all metadata providers SMM will work with in the future not just MyMovies.

Just gauging interest right now.

Just got a iPad and I'm loving it. Not sure what SMM is but would love to see some apps for the iPad to schedule recording remotely.

This is high on my priority list once mymovies guys get this new release put of the way. I need some changes on their end to make it work with sagetv.

I believe they have an android app not sure but I will be grabbing the commands on the pc side so the port should work for both.

I'm curious, besides the presentation (coverflow/movie wall) and price, what would be specific to the SMM addin that TiSageTV/TaSageTV can't do?

Handle MyMovies metadata with all the filters / categories and all. But mostly presentation. Your app is great like I have said and worth the 30 dollars, but it isn't visually pleasing I am not one that likes text allot and prefer a coverflow/wall type view.

I still can't get some of my titles to show up right in tisagetv althought they are correct in the core (issue we discussed over there). But it is mostly metadata difference and the presentation. With tv support coming over to mymovies it will work for tv and movies as well.

Are those merged with the regular metadata of SageTV or require the explicit use of the GetMediaFileMetadata call?

Fair enough, it's planned but requires some important changes.

Not currently no the only way to get mymovies data is with SMM. It is a seperate SQL database and has quit a bit of information that isn't in the sagetv core. Now the default fields are filed out with sage.properties if you use the method we discussed in your thread the title would be more accurate for movies.

Oh I know it's allot of work on your end and appreciate that it is planned. I messed with an ipad app myself early on just didn't have the time to complete it so I can imaging the time it has taken to create what you have so far and most importantly you have most of the function there and always function before form

This is great to hear. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Just remember that most of us iPad users are dirt poor (after buying this expensive beast)...
