HDPVR IR Blaster Not Working Within Sage [RESOLVED]

This is with Sage v7 RC 20.

The HDPVR IR blaster works fine from within Hauppauge's BlastCfg program. I can emit channel codes from within BlastCfg, and see the IR blaster's visible LED flicker. My cable set top box properly interprets the IR codes, and changes channels.

However, I cannot get Sage to use the HDPVR IR blaster. Whenever I try to change channels within Sage (e.g., Preview Channel within channel setup/editing), the IR blaster's visible LED does not flash, and the set top box does not change channels. From this I conclude that Sage is not working properly with the IR blaster.

I have tried:

1) rebooting the computer

2) shutting down sage (and the sage service), cycling the power on the HDPVR (by removing and re-installing the plug), restarting the sage service and sage, and adding the HDPVR as a video source.

3) uninstalling and re-installing sage

4) removing and adding the HDPVR as a video source within sage

None of this has solved the problem.

What is the solution? Sacrificing goats under a full moon???
