Blackberry Remote Contol with VNC

Hi,

I am looking into building an HTPC with SageTV. One of my main requirments is to be able to control my A/V devices using my Blackberry, replacing my Harmony 1000.

This is what I would like to achieve:
1. Set recording away from home
2. Stream TV to my BB (placeshifting) away from home.
3. Use my BB as a remote control in the house via BT or WiFi

I believe 1 and 2 are covered, however with 3 I'd also like to see a mini display of what is on the TV on my BB. So for example, I would get my usual play stop FF RW buttons, but when I bring up the IPG, I'd actually be able to tap over the programs and click to watch, record etc.

Is this possible? I am thinking along the lines of VNC server on the SageTV server, but I guess I need two outputs - 1 to the TV and one to the monitor that wouldn't actually be connected because that is what the TV is for

Am I barking mad, or just barking up the wrong tree?

As a side note, why would one want a Slingbox and a SageTV HTPC? and does anyone know if a slingbox would work as a local remote control to achieve #3? I know they do a BB client.

You could also try the mobile web interface to control the PC. You can use SlingBox as well.
