Question SageTV not visible in VNC/Remote Desktop/PCAnywhere ???

Got a question.. for some reason if I remotely login to my SageTV 2.28 server I get a blank Sage Screen on my display.. when I view the ACTUAL server I see the SageTV display correctly.. It seems that all types of remote display tools somehow lose the video that Sage produces... is there anybody else who is experiencing this? Is it something I've done wrong? I do have UltraVNC's video hook drivers installed.. is it an overlay that I'm missing.. I thought I used to be able to see that display via PCAnywhere and such...

Hmmmmm

Thanks!

For me I had to disable 3D Accelration mode to use SageTV through Remote Desktop.

With 3d it works fine for me on VNC. I find UltraVNC to work better than Tight and another one (name eludes me now)

.. it is unlikely that any remote access apps will be able to display video if the overlay renderer is used due to hardware limitations... I know *VNC does not.

Had the same Issue. I removed the Video Hook Driver and all was well. I know the Video Hook is supposed to make things faster, BUT it doesn't allow me to work with Sage so away it went.

I personally just removed it from Device Manager, but you can do it through an UltraVNC Batch file.

Happy to help if you need anything else.

Bingo.. that did it! Thanks all! Overlay still is invisible, but then I don't plan on WATCHING the video remotely.. I just like to log in to add favorites and cleanup.. so just the sage GUI was all I was interested in..

Thanks!

If only I could manage/create favorites via the webserver! Then I'd probably not need to remote in at all!

I have been using gotomypc for remote desktop management and never had an issue. Now that my annual account expired I wanted to try out something cheaper and found logmein.com They have a free remote desktop manager and I thought I'd give it a try. No SageTV interface visible for me either. However, when I log into my SageTVClient I can see it fine? Any ideas on what I should do?

I also use UltraVNC, although I would like to use Remote Desktop. The one problem I have is that the Sage Server is always locked after disconnecting the Remote Desktop connection.
Does anybody know if I can disable this "disconnecting" ? I searched the web but found.... nothing.
