Sage 7 and Latest Hauppauge HDPVR Driver?
Is anyone running the Sage 7 beta against the latest HDPVR driver? If so, does it work reliably?
I am "desperately" waiting for the official release of Sage 7 so I can maybe record shows without having to reboot the HDPVR every other day or so, and watch them without frequent drop-outs in the recordings... |

Had 2 HD-PVRs in a closet for 2 years, waiting on Show Analyzer. I installed them on Monday with RC 1 and have had zero problems. (installed from the Hauppauge disk, and then upgraded with the download). If you have PVR 150/500s, you'll need to re-install those drivers after running HWClear. DirecTV box set to 720p and using S/PDIF.

I have been runninng the HDPVR on the original 1.0.5.301 drivers and haven't had any issues so far with SageTV 7 running on a XP SP3 box. Figure why upgrade the drivers and risk a problem.

In my case, updating to the latest drivers made the situation better. The HDPVR still doesn't record all shows smoothly, but instead of a total lockup I get several reset events during a recording. Each reset event causes me to lose 10 to 15 seconds of a show (they show up as unexpected jumps in the playback), but at least Sage is able to reset the HDPVR and carry on.
This is with the latest version of Sage 6 running under Windows 7 32 bit. Since Sage 6 isn't supported on Windows 7 it's possible there's something else going on here. But updating the HDPVR drivers under Windows 7 did make things better. |

I'm running the HD-PVR driver version 1.5.7.0 6/23/2010. There haven't been any errors yet. I switched from an older one, I think it was 1.0.5.301 eight days ago. The older driver locked up with haults many times per month. Sometimes it might have gone two weeks without a problem. So the version 1.5.7.0 driver might have fixed the periodic lockups. If it doesn't have any lockups for 3 more weeks, I think the problems will be gone for me.
I am running SageTV version 7.0.16.238, java 1.6.0_10, and Windows XP Pro. Dave |
