Clear QAM Channel Mapping
I have a 2250 and channel scan found a bunch of clear qam channels, but some of them are incorrect. Specifically, KABCDT and KTTVDT (ABC and FOX) are mapping to what I assume are encrypted 1080p channels or something as I get a "no signal" on them when I try to tun them. I found unlabeled channels which are 720p feeds that I'd like to remap to KABCDT and KTTVDT so that I get the right EPG info, but since they channels are already mapped, I can't. How do I delete a channel form a tuner lineup or unmap it so that I can map it elsewhere? I can't figure it out. Also, is there some kind of reference somewhere or way that I can use to look up the other unlabled clear qam channels and fix them? I don't see a way to easily manually enter new channel IDs for unlabeled channels. I'm using Orange County Time Warner. Any help or direction to other postings would be helpful.

What you want to do is to go through each channel that is incorrect and you're sure that you can receive. Eg, scroll down through the channel list to KABCDT. Then select "Remap this channel". Then select "Remap Channel #" (not "Remap Station"). From there, change the "Physical Channel #" to match where the station really is. You can find this info via Silicon Dust's web site (http://www.silicondust.com/support/channels/), or via the "remap" physical channel info for the unlabeled station. Hit "preview" to make sure you're right. One word of advice... SageTV takes a weird physical-virtual-subchannel format that I've never seen elsewhere. If the silicon dust web site said "92.1", you'd have to enter "92-0-1". Once you've got everything re-mapped, disabled the mis-scanned channels. You might also be able to do it the opposite way -- go through the unlabeled/incorrect stations, and "Remap Station" to the correct station, and "remap Channel #" to the correct logical channel. The way I suggest above takes less steps. Drew |
