need help Mapping QAM and SDTV

I just setup my server for QAM got about 40 channels. I would like to map some of the QAM broadcast to the current SDTV channel. Below is an example

Channel 6 is KOIN in portland

On QAM the equivalent is 106-4 DTV106.4.

I would like to have 1 entry for both as Channel 6 KOIN .... but I keep screwing up the mapping. Do I change the logical Channel and map the different Station to the physical channel?

The logical number is the number that you will see in the guide, and the physical number is the number that Sage is sending to your tuner.....
Without know what tuner you have, the information here may or may be exact to your setup...
Just change the logical number to channel 6 and set the station ID to the correct id, so that the guide data is correct.....

This information is in the SageTV setup guide

IF after a scan you have *TWO* entries for the SAME Channel, then:

In SageTV Channel Setup
Highlight 106-4
Use 'Map Different Station to this Physical Channel'
Find the correct EPG entry (ie: 6 KOIN OR the KOINDT if available)

Know what station is being broadcast and assign it to the correct Station ID: Some QAM channels are 'digital simulcast' of the SD analog 'KOIN' while another could be KOINDT, the HD version. Same lineup, different resolutions.

You can then assign the Logical channel to whatever you like, since SageTV uses Station ID for favorites or scheduled recordings.

fear.net is most likely an On-Demand channel. I've seen some entries in the HDHR database that were messed up because someone scanned those channels in and that's what was playing at the time. YMMV.
