Everything is working-what do I do now???

I started on my Sage TV journey about 10 or 11 months ago. I have experienced many of the trials and tribulations mentioned here on the forum-some of them more than once. In some sort of strange way I got a lot of satisfaction out of troubleshooting, researching and successfully solving the problems. For the past 2 or 3 weeks all I have been able to do with Sage TV is watch it (what a concept) Everything is working properly, all settings are tweaked just the way I like them. I haven't even had an HDPVR lockup in a month or so. So my question is - WHAT DO I DO NOW????

Enjoy it!

Try a few plugins from the Plugin manager if you haven't already. Lots of good stuff in there. Better yet, want to write a guest-blog post for www.GeekTonic.com to tell us your story

Well, to be a proper sagetv user, you should probably start from scratch.. wipe it all out, and start again. You'll never get any enjoyment out of your current system.

Just remember the SageTV mantra:

"If it isn't broken, fix it until it is".

Expand the capabilities! look into the homeseer plugin or replace your current remote with voice activation (is this possible?).

I think it's time to revamp your drive layout. That'll take you about 3-5 days of tinkering and copying.

Fuzzy hit the nail on the head, "If it isn't broken, fix it until it is".

Well now, you all have good suggestions. I already have a lot of plugins, but I am thinking that the SSD that I have in my Sage server is probably overkill and I have always wished that I had installed it in my main desktop computer. I have an extra 160GB drive in the basement. I could swap those out today. that would be 2 operating systems to reload and sage to reinstall and retweak. SWEET
1-extra 160GB drive----0 dollars
hours of tinkering with Sage TV---priceless

OR I could paint the living room

Learn Studio and Java and learn how to break Sage in new and exciting ways.

Just make the SageTV Server part of a much bigger project, by going for a full home automation... You can already integrate it with CQC, HomeSeer, MainLobby and probably others...

Wipe it clean and see if you can rebuild it without getting any help from the internet

I love this thread.

And come to think of it, I'm sorta in the same boat. I don't have time to learn stuff (java, studio), and there hasn't been a new v7 plugin that I cared to install in a while. Waiting on the phoenix/ortus teams to come through with some stuff I can really start messing with - this coming Winter (when I'm stuck inside more) would work out just perfectly, thank you very much.

I quite literally laughed out loud on that one. I love it. I need to work that into my online profiles now.

I was going to suggest that you add some HD-PVRs, but I see that you already have some.

I guess I would agree with Fonceur then - get into the bigger automation scene. That will keep you busy for years and years instead of months and months.

If you only heard how my wife b#$tches and complains about sagetv not working when she wants it too...all that tweaking seems to be doing the job breaking the setup...now i'm thinking of revamping my paid for WHS DIY box and making an Unraid server...when will it ever end...
