Monitoring folder question

I'm currently experiencing a hit'n'misss on the addition of movies. Ive read the wiki and from what i understood is that if I rescan my media within sage, after it finishes is triggers the addition on mymovies. Well lets get an example of a movie I added yesterday night, after I placed the movie on the monitored folder i triggered a media rescan within sage. Its been almost 12hrs and I still dont see it listed neither in the Collection managment software neither on the SMM.

Is there a problem if the import paths are different??
On Sage my import dir is \\192.168.5.100\Multimedia\
(and over there I have folder \Movies, \Sports, \Events, \Series etc)
And on SMM my import dir is \\192.168.5.100\Multimedia\Movies (Since I just want it to index the movies not the rest)

Thanks,
Jab

I don't think you guys have folder monitoring on or on correctly. If it is not getting added in the cm it will not get added in my addin. The CM will add the movie instantly after the movie is ripped or copied to a monitored folder. It always adds it even if it can't find info it will add movie with just the folder name as the title.

CM has always 100% added movies on my machine with folder monitoring on. It doesn't always find the metadata but does always add the movie. It is simply monitoring your folders for new movies based on the extensions you have it looking for.

Also the cm tray icon must be running or the whs addin running at all times or it can't monitor folded if it isn't open.

Again something is not setup right on your system if it isn't working.

Also the only issue I know off with folder monitoring is when ripping a blu ray sometimes it will add the stream before the folder. They are aware of this issue

There is really no way for it to be "hit or miss" as it is just monitoring folders based on your settings. So something is not setup right or maybe it is losing access to the shares you are monitoring.

Well I dont think I have a "complex" setup. I have a NAS storage (linux openfiler) with a samba share, running 24/7 (so it never goes offline). The SageTV server has the CM server and client running (and with they tray icon on).

Right now the movie I added yesterday, I see it listed under the Video folder on sagetv (sage did pick it up correctly), whoever it wasnt added on the CM database. On the CM I have the Folder monitoring operation type as loose, and ive tried the oeration location of CM and from the Tray app. Guess I'll have to check the CM logs to see if there is some relevant information regarding the folder monitoring.

Yes I would start there and then post in the mymovies forums as I don't code the collection manager. So am limited to my experience and what I know about how it works.
