Malore Configuration Question

I can't change the "channel list" under configuration. It just sets there with no changes when I type in numbers followed by commas. What am I doing wrong or missing here???

What channel list are you referring to? Do you mean for Upcoming Movies? If so, I just tried that using channel numbers and channel names (channel names must match upper/lower case) and it worked fine.

What exactly are you entering? I've configured that option in both places where it can be changed & the Upcoming Movies menu always uses the changes. (That setting only affects the Upcoming Movies menu.)

Oh -- maybe I've completely misunderstood you. Do you mean your changes don't have any effect on the channels included, you can make changes but they aren't saved, or you can't edit the channels when the dialog is open?

You may need to use a keyboard since I don't think it uses NTE input from a remote, so a remote may not have a way to enter a comma.

I am using a keyboard from a Sage Client PC, also Remote Desktop to Sage Server PC..Either way, I can't edit the list. I Click inside pop up with existing channel numbers and nothing happens when I type. Is it feasible to go into the Sage Properties file and just edit these lists. I'm running Malore on Client and Server. They show 2 different lists, but as I said, can't change channel list thru UI. Is having this on Client and Server causing me problems.

I always found it easier to edit in the properties file myself, since I have a lot of movie channels and they change periodically...

Just shut down Sage and edit SageClient.properties. Look for a line called "movie_channels=". Add it if it doesn't exist. Enter the channels as a comma-separated list.

example:
movie_channels=150,151,152,153,154,155

I actually have this entered in both my Sage.Properties and SageClient.Properties. I think you need it in the properties file for each client or extender that you use.

This setting determines which channels the Malore menus check for movies in the upcoming movies screen. I'm not sure if it is used for anything else.

One reason I can think of to not be able to edit in a dialog like that would be if the keys you are trying to enter have been assigned to some other function. If you've assigned all the numbers to issue some command in Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link command to keystroke, then you can't use those keys to enter text. If this is the case: it is recommended to use Ctrl or Alt with a key when assigning it to a command.

The pop up will not accept any key from keyboard, almost like I am locked out. I do not have any linked commands to keystrokes in setup..

What about other places where you can type things, such as the Search menu? And, just start typing on the Main Menu & see if the search dialog pops up. Try changing Detailed Setup -> Customize -> Alternate Movie category name.

Can enter into search pop up. Typing while on Main Menu brings up search display. Can change alternate movie category name.

Is there a way to edit what is seen in the extra malore program guides, like Guide, Guide2 and Guide3, it would be cool if there was a way to be able to only have certain channels show in the other guides. Why else would there be all those other guides..

Once in Guide, Guide2 or Guide3 use the Options menu and I believe yo can edit the name to anything you want. I have named mine HD, Sci-Fi and something else.

Only the Upcoming Movies menu currently has a channel filter. I'll consider adding a channel filter for the 3 guide menus. (No promises as to when or if...)
