Deployment/configuration question

I have just started using sageTV with my one Extender since after christmas, and it can get confusing with setting up the preferences and behaviors, as I'm also running it with SageMC. How can I duplicate the setup so that when I add two more extenders, they also mimic the exact configuration of the one I have now? Will this hold true if I add placeshifter clients? or will the placeshifter clients also default to the normal configuration? I guess, I'm asking if there is a way to change the "default" settings of any new extender/client/placeshifter such that it's all the same.

Thanks

Each remote client (Extender or Placeshifter) gets its own .properties file on the server based on MAC address. Look in your Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\clients folder for these .properties files.

Default property settings are generally hard-coded in the STV; there is no default .properties file that's used to initialize the individual client files. So your best bet is probably to configure one client to your liking, then stop the server and manually copy & paste property settings from one file to another.

Note, though, that if the clients have different display aspect ratios, you'll need to configure that separately for each client.

Remote clients (extenders and Placeshifter) get their default properties settings from RemoteClients.properties.defaults and the server's Sage.properties.

I would not change RemoteClients.properties.defaults, as that gets overwritten when a new version of SageTV gets installed. But, I think you can set up Sage.properties with the default settings you want on the remote clients & they will get their initial settings from it.

SageTV Client uses its own settings (SageClient.properties) and is not dependent on the server's Sage.properties file.
