editing mp4 files

I have been editing my daughter's mp2 files using MPS-6.5. Now she has a Flip camera and I would like to edit those mp4 files.

I also have TMPGEnc 4 Express, but it doesn't have the capability I would like and I am used to from MPS-6.5. I see they also have a TMPGEnc 4 Authoring Works and TMPGEnc 3 MPEG editor.

Have any of you used those products and how are you editing mp4 files?

Thanks for any responses.

Are you trying to just cut them? or do actual editing (effects, splicing, etc)?

I want to do more than just cutting. TMPGEnc 4 Express could do that nicely. I want to do full fledged editing like I used to do with MPS-6.5.

so mediastudio pro won't open the mp4 files? I though it would be able to open pretty much any directshow capable video. Of course, that said, you could probably recompress them into a high bitrate mpeg-2, and do your editing in that...
