TV files don't play from beginning after editing

I have started to edit the MPG files in my library to remove the commercials. After I do this though, I notice that when I play the files, they don't start playing at the beginning. Instead, they play about 1 to 2 minutes into the show. It seems as if SageTV "remembers" where the start of the show is and skips the first few minutes of the recording that are usually commercials. However, now that the commercials at the beginning have been removed, it still starts playing a few minutes in. I can manually rewind, but this is kind of a pain to do. Is there any way to get Sage to play files from the very beginning?

Are these things you recorded with Favorites Padding or that you adjusted the start time of the recording to be before the show's actual start?

Nope, I haven't done any padding or time adjustments. Truth be told, I don't know how to do this as I haven't read the manual yet. I don't think I did this inadvertently either. I do notice that on many of the recodings, I can rewind from the "beginning" of the show a few seconds back. So it seems that SageTV always records more than it actually shows. Again, this doesn't affect normal viewing, only if I start editing the files to remove extraneous material.
