HD-PVR Recording Doesn't Play on HD200 in Extender Mode

I've never had this problem before I upgraded to SageTV 7. Now, every so often I will get a recording that refuses to playback on the extender. Everything else will play the file without complaint (VLC, MPC, Client, Placeshifter). Even the HD200 will playback the file so long as I have it in Media Player mode. I can run the file through VideoRedo and it's still not playable after it comes back out. The interface tends to react slowly as if it's having trouble reading the file as well.

I reloaded SageTV 6 with the same recording and had the same issues with the file imported into the video library, but only when using the HD200 as an extender. I'm very confused and a bit frustrated as I can't make the issue happen on demand, but it seems to keep happening at random.

Also worth noting is I had a similar issue with Firewire recordings and I assumed it was just the Firewire transport stream not being reliable. Well the HD-PVR and Firewire output both use MPEG-TS, so I think it might be related.

Can anyone help me out? I've searched the forums and didn't find anything quite like what I'm experiencing.

I think I know what this is and it's already fixed for the next version. To resolve it for now; just quit SageTV, then set this in the Sage.properties file:

force_full_content_reindex=true

then restart SageTV. The file should play OK then in extender mode.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but that didn't do the trick. It did appear to make the file seekable on the extender, but still no audio or video is being displayed.

I see the same problem when using placeshifter on the HD200. HD-PVR recordings will not play. They did in version 6.

Hey Jeff,

Was this fix included in 7.0.12 by chance? Wasn't sure which one of the fixes it might be listed as.

Yes, this fix was in 7.0.12.
