unable to view HD-PVR recordings after they are done?

OK, the problem there is due to the metadata that's being added to the file.
It makes the format string longer than what we ever expected it to be (the
limit is 4k; but the format string for dexter is 9k in that log). We'll fix
this issue for the next build of the server; but for now disabling whatever
plugin you're using that injects metadata into the file will fix it on any
new recordings.

I tried disabling all the Fanart plugins that I have. That's the only thing I have that would have metadata in it. I still can't watch the previously recorded shows. I'm going to try and record those shows over again to see if it fixes the problem. BTW, I had no problems watching these shows on my PC SageTV client. The problem seems to only effect HD200's.

That sounds like BMT. Might want to ping Stuckless to see if this is indeed a result of his plugin.

The response from sage indicates that it will only effect new recordings... old recordings will have to wait for sage to fix it on their end. And yes i would think BMT would be the culprit here...

I disabled BMT and new recordings are now playable.

I've seen this issue on recordings from the HD-PVR. Burn Notice and another series. But what I also noticed is the issue seems to be on HD Extenders only. I just tested playing back the files on a PC Client and they play fine. On the HD200 I just get the black screen and it won't play, ff, etc. Has anyone else tested on other than a HD200/100?

I view HD-PVR recordings via SageTV only through PC clients and haven't had any issues. I believe the bug is only evident on the extenders.

Just to update everyone. I also got a response back from sagetv support regarding my issue with entourage and they confirmed the same issue reported above with dexter and that it will be fixed in the next beta.

I also have the problem with playing recordings / livetv from my hdpvr on my hd200. The MVP's I have are fine.

I was also wondering if I should be running the 0x12 or 0x15 firmware on the hdpvr? Would that make a difference? I am using the 0x12 firmware.
