unable to view HD-PVR recordings after they are done?

I am having a really weird issue with my hd100...today, i am unable to view fully recorded shows from my HDPVR. when i tune into a show while it is recording, i can watch it just fine. when the show finishes recording, and i select it from the HD100, it goes to a black screen and no audio/video shows up. When i select the shows from the sagetv server or placeshifter, it plays fine...the fanart shows up fine in the HD100 and you can even see where the comskip markers are, but for some reason the show doesn't play. i have tried restarting the server, the hd100 without success..
any thoughts?

What version are you running?

I saw the same exact thing happen yesterday on my HD200. I am running the latest beta SageTV 7.0.11.

For me a scheduled recording wouldn't play. I went to the server and was able to play it in VLC without issue. So, the recording was fine.

I then checked what tuner it used (2 hdpvrs), I restarted the tuner and server. I then watched TV and recorded it while watching using the same tuner, worked fine. When the recording ended I tried to play it back and got a black screen with no video or audio but I can see the com skip marker. I checked again on the server with VLC and it plays without issue.

I'm thinking it might be a bug.

beta 7.0.11...i don't even have to use VLC...sagetv placeshifter and sagetv server software both play it just fine...definately a bug..

I've got the same problem. Weird issue is that so far it is exclusive to HBO. Other recordings from other channels play fine.

I've seen this recently as well. What drivers are you using for your HD-PVRs? I recently upgraded to the 1.5.6.2 beta and was thinking it is the problem. It also only happens to me on one of my four HD-PVRs.

also just HBO as well.. using old 1.053 drivers...

Just noticed that a Futurama on Comedy Central has the same issue. Using 1.5.6.1 drivers.

Interesting, HBO for me as well. However, not all of the recordings on HBO are having this problem.

I have issues with Entourage and True Blood. However, Hung recorded with no problems. Even though they were recorded consecutively. Even trying to manually record Entourage and True Blood has repeated issues. I also notice that the graphics for the timeline is distorted compared to a normally functioning recording.

I submitted a bug report. I encourage you guys to do the same so that they are aware of the issue and can fix it.

Same exact issue here! That is exactly what happened to me yesterday, that's crazy.

I had Hung and Entourage set as favorites, both recoreded, Hung plays fine, entourage did not play. So, we caught it and watched the repeat airing an hour later and made a manual recording while we watched it. We were able to watch it without issue. When the show ended and subsequently, the recording ended, I tried to play it back and it would not play back, same issue as the scheduled recording, black screen, no video or audio.

I think we are getting closer. How about everyone else, what channel and show?

same entourage and trueblood on HBO..alsmost had an aneurysm when i couldn't watch season premiere of entourage..wifey would have been livid..

So rescheduled recording of entourage was last night. Same exact issue. I could watch it but when it ended I was unable to play the file.

Has anyone else filed a bug report with sageTV?

Yes, I've filed a bug report. I sent in my sagetv0.txt file this morning and they said it looked fine. Sage wants me to try to move the file to "Videos" and see if it will pay there. I will try that when I get home tonight.

i just filed one as well. Also Dexter on Showtime Showcase not working either. I will try the file move to see if it works.

They haven't gotten back to me yet but I sent them logs and the actual recording to check.

Quick question, are you guys recording the respective HD channels? I'm recording on HBOHD.

Yes the problem has been all been on HD shows. Couple of other Comedy Central shows being affected now.

I had this happen to me a few times in V6 this past spring so it's not exclusive to V7. Also, one of the recordings that would only give a black screen played just fine a few days later. I had less success with the other recordings that did this.
