ISO playback question
I've installed Virtual CloneDrive 5.4.4.0 then upgraded from STV 6.6 to the latest beta (v7.0.11) and I see my ISO files, but I get a Playback exception (-3,0) when I try to play them.
Am I missing something in terms of configuring the system to support ISO playback? Last edited by PredatorVI; 06-20-2010 at 03:38 PM. |

UPDATE: I was able to play an ISO from the server directly, but I still can't do it from a client. Is this a limitation of the ISO playback functionality?

If by client you mean placeshifter - I believe that is a limitation

Not the placeshifter client...just the regular client.

Did you also install Virtual CloneDrive directly to your clients? The Client(not Placeshifter)/Server relationship in SageTV is a little nebulous. The Client and server are essentially the same program. The only real difference is that the Client can't record or create a wiz.bin. In all other respects they are for all intents and purposes identical.
The SageTV Client essentially uses the server for the database (wiz.bin) access. If you have your recording directories and media imports set up as UNC paths (i.e. \\htpc\whatever) the Client can access those files directly without help from the server. In short, if you have ISO's in your media imports you also need to have Virtual CloneDrive installed on all your clients so that they may also be able to read the ISO files. I'm not sure but having your media imports be set as UNC paths might also be a requirement for ISO's to work on Clients. I say this because in order for Clients to be able to use comskip EDL files they must be able to see them, which is only possible by using a UNC path.
