Open GUI to Recordings & recording. status

1. Can Sage jump directly to "Recordings" when the GUI is opened, as opposed to Main Menu?

2. In a batch file, I want to put my machine on standby, unless Sage is currently recording. Is there a way to check Sage's recording status? Perhaps check if a file or process exists?

Try my "Display Recordings Menu On Startup" plugin.

Is there a reason you need to use a batch file? From my experience, Windows will automatically go into standby mode if you are not watching live tv and if SageTV is not recording. What operating system are you using?

I use Windows Vista and in "Power settings" I have "Put the computer to sleep:" set to "5 minutes". If SageTV is not recording, Windows will put the computer into standby after 5 minutes.

Do you have a link handy? Can't find it on the forum.

The batch file I mentioned is more complex: it handles backup, cleaning, etc. It runs every night and puts my machine to sleep when it's done. Anyway, I figured out how to detect Sage's recording status: in Sage's video folder check which file was last written to, then check if it's locked.

I developed it for SageTV7. I think it will work with SageTV 6.

Thanks. The switch to Recordings works in Sage 6, but only when Sage starts from scratch. It doesn't work when I bring Sage back from standby. This is how I launch Sage's GUI most of the time, since I keep Sage on standby at all times. Any chance of implementing this?

If SageTV is already open and you want it to display the Recording menu you could do this:

C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\SageTV.exe -event 86
