1 TB SATA for $39.99

Anyone have one of these, know if they are good/bad/reliable?

Apparently they have gotten some bad reviews in various places for being cheap and breaking, but others say they are great and last reliably for a long time - perhaps just "luck of the draw" from poor quality control standards?

I had the 4 ST31000340AS which 2 crapped out on me. Not sure what's the difference between the one you listed and this one. I know sometimes they list different part number but the drive part number all the same. Please google to see if there is or not a difference.

They were not worth it. Skimping on the quality of your hard drives is never a good idea IMO.

Considering my original question was "what does anyone know about this drive?", I'm guessing you don't think much of the Seagates.
