HD-PVR IR Stops

Anyone else having issues with the HD-PVR IR Blaster stopping? THE HD-PVR itself is working great, but SageTV stops sending commands to the IR Blaster on it that I use. I can load blastcfg in windows and test sending commands and they work great, so it is sage only that is having problems sending the commands.

EDIT:
Guess I could have mentioned this only started happening after installing 7

I've had similar issues. But I also had issues in v6 (using Win 7 x64--so no option for firewire control).

I'm using 7 64-bit also. Do you remember how you resolved? I may have had problems in 6 when I first upgraded to Win 7 64bit, just can't remember for sure.

Thanks

i found that if you run Sage in service mode, it locks my USBUIRT. Disable serivce mode and I can run just fine. Does not sound exactly like your issue, but I thought I would throw it out there.

I think this is due to a bug in the USB-UIRT drivers if you have one user that owns the sagetv.exe process and another user owns sagetvservice.exe. By default service are owned by "SERVICE".

Try going into the service manager and change the user that starts the service to whatever user you generally use.

But this may depend on your OS -see this thread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47567

How long was it working under V6 before you switched to V7? I just want to make sure you are confident that it was working reliably under V6.....

I'd recommend that you uninstall and reinstall SageTV. Anytime Sage has problems with the Hauppauge IR blaster, a reinstall seems to get it working. There is something that happens during the installation process that ties Sage and the Hauppauge blaster together. It seems that process got messed up during your installation. A uninstall and reinstall should only take a couple minutes. I'd recommend a reboot inbetween the two and that reboot will probably take the most time.

I haven't had any problems with the Hauppauge IR blaster under V7, nor have I heard of any others having issues. I definitely don't think it is a V7 bug.

I'm having the same issue as the OP. After initially upgrading to 7 the IR didn't work at all. After a reinstall it worked for about 5 or 6 channel changes and then stopped responding. I had it working in v6 for 5 months with out a single problem.

Since you are having same problem as me with the IR, if you reboot your server / restart service, do you also have to unplug the HD200's to get them to connect? My HD100's connect back fine, but both 200's need unplugged before they will connect back to the server.

Your HD200 is unable to connect back if it is already connected and then you restart? I haven't had this scenario since I always turn my HD200 off when its not in use (to make sure I don't leave a tuner tied up) but I will test this when i get home tonight.

I'm a new user with about 2 weeks testing (v6.6) using a Hauppauge HD PVR, without any IR problems.. I upgraded (clean install) to v7, and after 3 recording, SageTV stopped communicating the channel change to the STB.

Shutting down the PVR did not resolve the problem, shutting down SageTV did not resolve the problem, rebooting dedicated Win 7 (32bit) machine did resolve the problem until the 6th recording, then started failing again..

Rolled back to V6.6

Well, I gave up and went back to XP and firewire channel control Fixed a few other issues I was having with the HD200 as well.
