HD PVR stops encoding only during playback

I just sent an e-mail to Hauppauge about a problem I've been experiencing with my RMAd HD PVR and I wanted to know if any of you have been seeing this as well. It seems that when I attempt to both encode video and playback simultaneously my newly returned unit will stop encoding after about 15 to 30 minutes. However, if I let the PVR encode without playing any video back it seems to work indefinitely. All my recordings from the wee hours of the morning are in perfect condition and I've been recording some Mythbusters today for the past few hours straight with no problems. Only as soon as I load up a recording or attempt to watch my current one does the PVR do its thing.

I'm using the bundled Arcsoft program right now and it seems to be giving me the same results. Am I wrong to think it's a driver or configuration issue? It can't be Sage alone if the Arcsoft program is doing the same thing and it can't be the hardware itself if it can still record all day under these circumstances. Until I hear back from Hauppauge I'm not sure what else I could try.
