IR Blaster in HD-PVR stops responding
Hi all,
I hooked up my HD-PVR and have been having a heck of time getting some of my channels set up.. I made another post about that. The issue is that all the sudden the IR blaster attached to the HD-PVR stopped working, it will work for one channel then stop responding. I've rebooted the computer, reset the HD-PVR, deleted and re-created the video source and no dice. I'm getting ready to try out the firewire channel changing but wanted to get the IR blaster working enough to test the trouble channels. I suppose I could manually change the channels on the box for the channel troubleshooting, then take on the firewire. |

Well, if I exit Sage and stop the service, I can send signals to the box through the blaster config utility, but doesn't work at all in SageTV.
I even tried doing HWClear and re-loading the drivers and can't get it to work. Definitely looks like it has something to do with Sage since it works outside the application.. Anyone have any ideas? I'm on v6.4.3.171 Thanks! |

Ok, so I went into the properties files and deleted all the encoders, then went back in to sage and recreated them and still no dice.
Can't send the IR from within Sage.. |

Ok, so I finally gave upon trying to diagnose the problem, did a Windows system restore to last night and everything's working fine now.

For your HD-PVR to work properly I think you need to upgrade to a stable version. According to that version number you're on one of the betas. The latest version is 6.4.8.

Thanks, but it's actually working fine after I did the restore to the previous night.

Well, if you want to use the new HD-PVR drivers that support AC3 you will NEED 6.4.8. I believe that update was introduced much later I think in 6.4.7 but it could have been introduced in 6.4.8. Why run a beta version anyway?

Just haven't gotten around to upgrading yet.. haven't needed to.
I probably will anyway so I can use the latest beta for the media extender.. |

I was putting the 1.1 drivers through their paces last night and after about 30 minutes the IR blaster would no longer respond. Why I have no idea; a reboot solves it.
