how do you watch saved TV shows from the HD200

Sorry to bother you all but I need a setup SageTV for dummies. The manuel is for people how understand the language. I think I have this thing hooked up correctly and my media center PC is setup as a SageTV sever. BUT I can't seem to figure out how to watch TV shows from the PC to the HD200 box.

Everything I read said that SageTV was the way to go but I'm frustrated and ready to send it all back.

First, see p. 2 of the printed manual that came with your HD200. It tells you how to configure SageTV on your server so that extenders can connect to it. After that, you can connect to the SageTV server via the "SageTV Servers" option on the HD200's main menu while in standalone mode.

Once connected as an extender, you can use the regular SageTV interface as described in the large PDF manual that was installed with SageTV on your PC. You would simply go the the SageTV Recordings menu and choose recordings to watch..

I don't know which of the above steps is causing you probles, so if you'll be more specific about what you don't understand, someone can try to clear it up.

Can you confirm what progress you have actually made to this point? Your thread title asks about watching "saved" shows. Are you able to record shows on your PC and then later view them on your PC (forget about your TV at the moment)? If the answer is yes, we can focus on ensuring that your HD200 is properly communicating with your PC. If the answer is no, there is some more preliminary work to be done (i.e. you need to make sure things are working properly on the PC before bringing the HD200 into the mix).

I don't know that for sure. I have set something up to record tonight. I thought that I had something recorded but I can't find it but found things that I did not record. I will reply tomorrow after I find out.
