Newbie Setup Questions Hauppauge 2250
I've tried to search for the answers, but I'm at the final stage of trying to figure this out before I call it quits...
I have a 2250 installed in a Win 7 x64 system running the latest SageTV (demo for 21 days). I have the cable running directly from the wall to the 2250 with no box in between. I ran through the configuration wizard and thought I had everything set up properly. However, I am running into a tuner issue between the analog and the digital tuners. Initially, I select TV tuner as the input for the Analog Capture device. I then run a channel scan and everything is fine. Then I run the setup tuner again on the same analog tuner and use Digital TV tuner as the input. I can then watch the digital stations correctly but all of my tuned analog channels now have a different mapping or tuning, ie they tune the wrong channel even though all of the mapping information appears to be correct. When I had run only the analog input then they tune correctly but I can't get the digital channels. Should I be running the input wizard only once per analog capture source? I think that would limit my tuning/recording options though and I think that I should be able to tune 2 digitial at a time or 1 digital/1 analog or 2 analog. If I only set up each tuner as one input wouldn't that only give me 1 digital and 1 analog period? Thanks, G |

Welcome to the SageTV forum!
I have a couple of HVR-2250s in my system. I have one setup for two digital over the air tuners, and the other for two analog tuners from DTA cable box channel 3 & 4 outputs. I don't know how well analog and digital would work since the card has a single TV RF input. I setup each tuner on each card separately. Try setting up one tuner at a time. Try setting up both for digital or both for analog. I haven't tried one analog and one digital on the same card, so I don't know if that would work. Dave |

I tried setting up the 2250 with one capture as digital and one as analog, but then SageTV doesn't always use the correct tuner and I'll get a different channel than expected when I try to watch TV.
The really odd thing is that when I go into the EPG and try to change the mapping the preview channel option will show the correct station playing, but then when I go back out of setup and use the Program Guide to select the station/show I want to watch it reverts back to tuner #1 and plays the wrong station. So Sage doesn't appear to know which tuner to use as analog and which to use as digital... So how does Sage handle your 4 inputs and knowing which to use for digital and which to use for analog? It would seem that if it can handle 4 it should handle 2... ![]() It has to be something I'm doing during setup... G |
