Hd 200 aspect ratio

I have a sage hd200 hooked up to a new sony bravia 32" tv in my garage. I have searched thru a bunch of pages on here and I don't seam to be able to find an answer. So here is my problem, is that when I switch to my hdmi input and the sage menu comes on it is shown full screen of the tv like it is suppose to be. But when I play back a hi def show, it plays it in what I would call a letter box with the top and bottom cut off. I have tried the different output settings and that made no difference. If I hit the aspect ratio button and select fill it will show it pretty well normal, but as soon as I play another show it is back to the letter box style. I have played with the different settings in the tv with no luck either. Am I missing a setup here some where? I have a 2nd sony bravia 32" in the bedroom and it works fine as does the one on my main tv.
Thanks
Wayne

There is a setup screen with a Circle superimposed on a square. You adjust until SageTv has them right.

That should fix it.

To permanently set your aspect ratios: Play a video, while playing the video, hit the "Options" button. You should see a new menu come up that has an option for Aspect Ratio. You can then set your default aspect ratio there.

That is what I have done and it will stay at the right aspect ratio untill I play another show and it goes back to the way it was. I will go out tonight and see if the circle thing works. As I do remember that now, but have not tried any more with it as I forgot about that.

If you are using the default STV, see the bottom of p. 120 in the v6.6 PDF manual regarding setting the default AR mode.

Yeah, but check to make sure you are actually setting the default and not just selecting the temporary AR mode. You need to have the check mark next to it.
