Aspect ratio of the UI

Hi

I'm using a 16x9 projector but when watching TV on it I zoom it to use the full width of my screen. I end up projecting black bands outside of my screen but I don't really mind.

The problem is that even if sage respects the "source" setting and projects only in the 4x3 part of the screen, the UI uses the whole 16x9 frame and the menus are hard to use since about a third of the important info is projected on plants and bookcases.

Is there a way to force the UI to use 4x3 ?

thanks

Gog

You could resize the OSD with Detailed Setup->Multimedia->Overscan Settings.

There are 2 stages to this process. The first allows you to move the upper left corner in (this would be for the top and left side) with the arrow keys, press enter when set to your likeing. The next part allows you to move the lower right corner in (this would be for the bottom and right side). Again, use the arrow keys and hit enter when finished.

Hopefully that will allow you to bring things within your projected screen.

I must admit I haven't touched that setting yet but wouldn't that affect everything ?

My DVDs play in 16x9 and TV plays in 4x3 just fine, I want to affect the UI only.

Overscan settings are only for UI.

Ya, the wording of those settings are a bit vague. The Overscan setting changes the size of the UI, while the Aspect setting changes the size of the actual video display.
