S/PDIF from Asus Essence STX
Hi all,
I am having the HARDEST time getting digital audio to work properly. My setup is as follows: Windows XP SP3 32bit, M3N78 mobo with the onboard audio disabled in the BIOS. I have an Asus Essence STX in place (newest XP drivers), which is connected through an optical cable to my Arcam AV9 pre-amp (AV input) as well as throught the analog stereo cables (CD input on the pre-amp). I would love to get SageTV to just send the digital audio to the amp, and use the decoders of the Arcam to produce 5.1 or 7.1 surround. I currently have NO sound at all, although the pre-amp switches decoder mode when I start playback. Is there a how-to, where a beginner like me can learn how to set up the relevant parts of Windows, the Asus Essence drivers, and SageTV? Thanks for any help, Mark
