What audio decoder are you using in your Sage setup?

I'm guessing that that is where your problem will be.

try using the same one as your dvd audio decoder - see if that works.

yeah click on the direct show filters
then find the sonic audio decoder
and click it once
then click the properties button on the bottom

and then there is a check box for enable spdif in the sonic audio decoder setup

does TheaterTek work with spdif? or is it having the same issue?

you can check the registry for keys related to spdif

there were two that I think you should check
spdif out only
and
AC3spdifenable

also what render are you using?

and no it will not be the pvr 250s fault

Yes, Spdif works with theatertek, it works with windows sound, heck it works if i use the sage dvd, just not with tv.

renders: Default, Envy24 Family Audio (WDM), Sonic Cinemaster Ati spdif adapter, default direct sound device, default waveout device, and Directsound: Envy24 Family Audio (WDM). Currently set to default, although I have tried others.

MPEG2 audio decoder filter: Default, MPEG Audio Decoder, Sonic Cinemaster@DS Audio Decoder. Currently set to Sonic Cinemaster@DS Audio Decoder.

Spdif Out Only and AC3spdifenable is located Sonic -> Cinemaster DS DVD ->Audio Decoder

ac3spdifenabled 0x00000001 (1)
SPDIFOutOnly 0x00000000 (0)

Thanks!

Yes..My receiver seems to receive the signal by what it displays, but no sound comes out. Whatever the problem, there is also no sound with wintv2000 and beyondtv using different decoders.

I have the exact same problem with my Revo 5.1. According to the documentation for the card, the s/pdif connection only supports PCM (stereo), DTS, and DD. Stereo sound should just be output in PCM format. I've tried using ac3filter to reencode the audio on the fly into a 5.1 format, but I can't get it to work.
