USB IR Blaster and external cable box

Comcast is forcing the use of a digital adapter box in my area. If I get a USB IR blaster, like the one SageTV sells, and install it will SageTV maintain the program information for pre-programmed favorites? Right now without the IR transmitter if I re-wire my Comcast digital feed to my PC, SageTV only sees the recording on channel 3. Like my TV does. When I install the digital adapter for all tvs, including the PC with SageTV, I want to make certain that any pre-programmed favorites will continue uniterrupted if I use the IR transmitter to change the channel on the digital adapater box and also maintain program information.

I recently went through this. After setting up the USB-UIRT and DTA, and doing the channel lineup configuration for the DTA, you don't have to mess with your favorites any.
