USB-UIRT Blaster STB IR file
I can usually find answers by searching, but this question has me stumped. I've studied up on IR codes, RC5, JP1, and on and on.
I changed over to a USB-UIRT to change channels on a STB, using the 45 button Hauppauge remote. SageTV is not running as a service on my Win7 computer. Remote keypresses were entered twice for each linked command - as the remote toggles two different codes for each press. That part works fine. My problem is I can only enter one code in the IR file for the STB - when you teach the USB-UIRT the remote codes transmitted to the STB. So, if I try to tune to a channel with 2 digits in a row, like 118, I get 18 - it ignores the second 1. I used lrnhelper, if you learn code then transmit it more than once, it ignores the second and third transmitted codes. The remote for the STB doesn't do this - it can enter 118 or even 111 without problems. I need the Blaster to send both codes for a digit, tried to learn the code twice and hand edit the IR file associated with the STB to contain both codes after the digit in the file - still no go. Any solution to this without going to a third party software controller like Girder or LMremoteKeyMap? In short, I'd like SageTV to send both codes when it sends a digit to the STB.
I hope I asked this correctly - it's a little confusing.
Thanks much-
Rob
PS- I have a MCE compatible remote coming in with a receiver but not a blaster. I wonder if these remotes use toggle codes? I plan to try it for controlling SageTV and use the USB-UIRT as a blaster only. No problems with the STB seeing the IR from the USB-UIRT, it just doesn't respond to duplicate keypresses because of the double codes.
