Scanning/sync'ing icon constantly showing up

I purchased a HD200 two days ago. Since then, the little icon that shows up in the upper right of menu screens (which I believe indicates that it is scanning your computer for new content) has constantly been on.

Well, I'm not actually sure if it is on or if it is always there and when it's on it does something, like the sands of the hourglass start moving or something. But the resolution is kind of crappy so I can't tell.

But anyway, my question is just is this normal, should this icon disappear when it gets finished, and if so, how long does it usually take for the initial scan process to end?

No response to this, but jsut fyi, it went away and now just comes back when I rescan. So I guess it just took a couple of days to scan my drives for files upon initial boot up.
