SageTV Client Decoder Question
I am running SageTV as a server with one software client and one HD-200. The HD-200 can play everything recorded on the HD-PVRs perfectly but the software client cannot.
I assume this is a codec problem. I have tried installing the TME software on the client PC and adding the following lines to the client PC's properties file: videoframe/aac_audio_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Audio Decoder HD videoframe/ac3_audio_decoder_filter=AC3Filter videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Video Decoder It still does not work. Does the client get its codecs from the server or locally? Should I install TME on my server? Thanks for the help, Will |

The codecs you need for the client needs to be installed on the client. Those lines should NOT need to be added. Also you can set that decoder from within SageTV in the Detailed Settings page. You may also want to de-register the TME Audio codec. I know in the past this has coaused issues playing mp3's and other files. Arcsoft video and AC3Filter should be all that is needed.

I was able to fix the problem by:
After I started up SageTV it detected the Arcsoft codecs and automatically configured itself to use them. Everything is working perfectly. Thanks for the help. |

Will, are you using HD-PVR to record the content? Which operating system (Windows 7) is the client? Looks from the decoder you mention its HD-PVR. I am asking in hopes I can get mine to work properly.

I am using an HD-PVR to record the content. However, I am not using Windows 7, I am using Windows XP MCE for the client OS.
