SageTV Client - Have to watch live twice

I suppose this is the right sub for the client software? Why no specific sub for it?

I have SageTV WHS version on a little EX470. On other machines Sage client fails all video renderer tests from the wizard, but..

If I manually set any of the renderers they all will produce results. I had to fiddle with some of the decoder settings but can use any renderer despite the wizard showing failure.

Additionally..

If I use the Watch Live or go through the guide I get kicked back to the previous menu. If I then repeat the Watch Live or click the preview from the guide it'll go back to the program and stay there, allowing me to watch it.

After the kick back on the first go, the [REC] indicator shows and continues to show as if I were still watching it live.

I assume this kickback right after tuning in the channel is why the video renderer tests all fail.. Also explains why I never saw any previews during channel scans or the wizard renderer tests.

Placeshifter on the other hand works perfectly fine..

Any suggestions? I've not tried -all- that I could with the client so far since I may just opt for the placeshifter, although it would be nice to have sage client for the computers on the LAN.

Ah, I kinda thought that was for the flagship Media Center only.

Perhaps will just let this thread stew a bit here instead of duping it on that sub. Kind of think I may go with the place shifter for the time being and see just how well that fits into the mix. Probably get a few HD Theater in the near future anyhow.
