Are you concerned about the folder security from within SageTV, or at the OS level?
You can enable user-level permissions on the directory within the OS, and then have SageTV (server) "run as" a user with permissions to that directory. Anyone else trying to get to the directory via local or network share would need appropriate permissions, or a SageTV client.

No, I'm not concerted about OS folder Security at this point. I'm looking to see if I can put a pin on a folder within STV

No, doesn't look like I can do it with Parental Controls. I'm really surprised that this feature doesn't exist.

Short answer... not really.
This has been brought up and requested for several years... and keeps getting ignored by the SageTV team, IMO. Don't get me wrong, Sage is a wonderful product. I just wish they would beef up thier "media management" to include more features like this... There is an option in that list that works... but it becomes a managment PITA if you have multiple clients since you have to modify each one to create the restricted folder view.. |

Agreed, I love the STV as well, but I to would love to see some more official STV features instead of all these hacks from users. I switched to STV from "Media Portal". And I gotta say, media portal was pretty dam good for an open source product.
